Fair Housing Statement

Home » Fair Housing Statement

Dana Sells California is committed to equal housing opportunity. We offer our services to every client on the same terms, and we do not discriminate — in word, in writing, in advertising, or in practice — against any person or group because of who they are.

This statement applies to every service we provide: buyer and seller representation, consultations, property searches, showing appointments, marketing plans, referral recommendations, and the information published on this website.

1. The Laws We Follow

The federal Fair Housing Act (Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended) makes it illegal to discriminate in the sale, rental, financing, or advertising of housing. In California, the Unruh Civil Rights Act and the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) extend those protections to housing transactions and business services, and add characteristics that federal law does not cover. Local ordinances in the counties we serve may add further protections.

2. Protected Characteristics

Under federal and California law, housing decisions may not be based on:

  • Race or color
  • Religion
  • Sex, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation
  • National origin or ancestry
  • Familial status, including pregnancy and children in the household
  • Marital status
  • Disability, physical or mental
  • Source of income, including housing vouchers and other lawful assistance
  • Military or veteran status
  • Age
  • Genetic information
  • Citizenship or immigration status

3. What This Means in Practice

  • Every inquiry that reaches us — by form, phone, email, or social message — receives the same prompt, professional response.
  • We show every property a buyer is qualified and interested to see, and we present every listing a seller hires us to market, without steering anyone toward or away from a neighborhood.
  • Our marketing is written and placed to reach a wide audience. We do not target or exclude audiences by any protected characteristic, and we do not publish language that signals a preference or limitation.
  • We do not screen, prioritize, or decline clients based on where their funds come from, so long as the source is lawful and the financing or proof of funds meets the terms of the transaction.
  • Reasonable accommodations and reasonable modifications are considered for any client or visitor with a disability, at no additional charge.

4. Steering Is Prohibited

We do not guide buyers or renters toward or away from particular areas, buildings, or schools based on a protected characteristic. Neighborhood information we share — schools, commute times, crime statistics, amenities, demographics — is provided from public sources on request, so that each client makes their own decision.

5. Advertising and Equal Housing Logos

Our website, printed materials, and listing advertisements carry the Equal Housing Opportunity logotype and statement. Any advertisement we place on a third-party platform is configured so that it does not exclude protected groups.

6. Report a Concern

If you believe you have been treated unfairly, refused service, or steered because of a protected characteristic, please tell us at dana@danasellscalifornia.com or (424) 225-2977. We take every report seriously and will review it promptly.
